UBBT 2012 – HERO Housing Project in Greensboro, AL

Each year, members of the Ultimate Black Belt Test (UBBT), led by master instructor Tom Callos, meet in Greensboro, Alabama to assist with a community building project, and to train one another in various martial arts. This spring, UBBT members worked alongside HERO Housing employees and volunteers to make improvements on a day care center, animal shelter, and additional projects.

The efforts with Hale County Empowerment and Revitalization Organization (HERO) have resulted in several projects over the past decade. These include the Bunkhouse, Pie Lab, and the Martin Stewart School. Below are several videos from this year’s project.

The Ultimate Black Belt Test is sponsored by The 100., a martial arts business and curriculum association promoting fair, sane, and sustainable business practices, intelligent curriculum, and integrity-based marketing for school owners representing all styles and methods of martial arts.

Studio 13 by Mind-Body-Spirit Works is proud to participate with the 100 in the HERO Housing Project. Instructors Stacia & Nick Kelly have attended in 2011 and 2012, and were joined by students of the studio this year. Plans for next year include students from The House, Inc.
