The NPC Max Muscle Virginia 2012 Body Building Show (From a Vendor’s Perspective)

I had the privilege of sharing my favorite energy drink with contestants and visitors at the NPC Max Muscle Virginia Body Building Show. If you’ve never been to one of these events, you have to picture tons of moving parts. Contestants have to register, get their numbers, tan, dress, warm up, have their music for the DJ, and handle press and photo ops. The DJ has to have house music, intro music for all the contestants and the guest posers, and coordinate with the lighting guy. The lighting guy has to coordinate with events like the star spangled banner and intermission, pre-judging, and finals. Someone has to track ticket sales and change. Someone has to make sure that only authorized coaches are allowed in private areas. The men have to be kept separate from the women, and all the contestants have to be in the right place at the right time.

Then there’s the vendors. Business owners who want to share their products that they believe will appeal to the contestants, coaches and fans. You would expect things like photography, make-up, jewelry, protein bars, supplements, and more. This is a natural fit for us, because one of our favorite products to sell is Rev3 Energy drink (which is all-natural, low glycemic, and really, really tasty.) (Feel free to contact me for a free sample.)

The NPC event was large, and busy, but never out of control. That credit goes to the staff; the promoters, expeditors, security, and operations staff. Over 100 contestants participated, and when you add in coaches, families and supportive friends, you’ve got an auditorium filled with excitement. When you consider that the event totals over 12 hours, excitement is a good thing.

The NPC show was a great chance to discuss energy, fitness, weight loss, bodybuilding, and overall health with a huge crowd. I was fortunate enough to be joined by my partner, Dave Delevante, fresh back from his face-to-face with Dr.Oz up in New York. I also got to invite our own Rev Ninja (whose identity will remain nameless!)  Rev Ninja (who debuted in this video) got plenty of pics with folks from the show, and we got a chance to promote, not just try to sell to everyone who came by.

The show was smoothly run, always positive, and the vendors, even the competitive vendors, all respected one another. This year’s crowd was much larger than last year, and contestants raved about how smooth the show went. I think the vendors would all agree.

Check out a few pics and a quick video we were asked to shoot mid-day at the show:

All the best,

Nick

PS: We’re already shooting the next Rev Ninja commercial 😉
